With the property sold, renovations supposedly imminent, and access restricted, I made my way up the steps of the hotel for the final time.
Much has changed since I first entered the building on a hot summer dawn in 2009. What was once a pristine abandonment was now an old haunt for too many who never appreciated it. Ownership has changed hands. Taggers have made their mark. Base jumpers have lept off the roof. Birmingham's underground river, which flows through the basement, is the only constant in this structure.
It was a bittersweet run.
Last of Leer.

ReplyDeleteMe and 3 buddies went in here about a month ago and ever since have been hooked on urbex photography and stuff. We have many more adventures set. I've been using your pics and things to find places. Thanks for the awesome shots and finding these places so we could also find them!
ReplyDeleteMost welcome! Good luck and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying your videos and pictures! What a great eye you have!! I was scared for you (but so excited to watch) during your video, -- the hotel looked so decayed and unsafe. Thanks again!
