This location was erected in 1922 and was the home of the first public library open to black citizens in Birmingham. It was also formerly, among many other things, the home of NAACP offices.
The Colored Masonic Temple, as the facade denotes, has been mostly abandoned since the 80's. Some parts longer, some parts not as long.
The denizens of this property enjoyed trunks, locking trunks, and were a musical people.
