This old abandoned school is in North Birmingham. Expect some more shots from this location in the very near future. It was pretty crowded around the school and I didn't want to push my luck today. I have no idea what the name of the school is. I do know that it is yellow.

Have you tried Banks Middle School in East Lake?
ReplyDeleteWhy, no! Do tell.
ReplyDeleteI have to represent my neighborhood...
ReplyDeleteClosed recently (2007), so it might not be terribly interesting inside. It was the major middle/high school for the East Lake neighborhood for about 60 years. Its mascot was the Jets, and it used to have an authentic USAF jet mounted above an entrance to the school!
Even if you don't think that site is worth it, you should drive around in the neighborhood. Lots of interesting things in East Lake, Tarrant, and Woodlawn.
Banks High School, 86th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35206

Were u or your parent students at the school
DeleteOhhhh, THAT school! The police have been dealing some unnecessary beat downs to otherwise innocent photographers for hitting schools like that in the area.
ReplyDeleteIs this the same as the Slossfield Community Center or is it just next door to it? http://www.bhamwiki.com/w/Slossfield_Community_Center
ReplyDeleteI believe so
